Learner Objectives: The student will use context
clues and familiar word clues new vocabulary to solve a crossword puzzle.

Lesson Activity:
1.
I will provide examples of each new vocabulary word
used in a sentence.
2.
I will explain how to fill in crossword puzzle
words (across and down).
3.
We will then go over the answers and definitions
again as a class.
b.
Assessment: I will collect the crossword puzzles
and grade them for assessment.
II.
ESE and ESOL Strategies/Accommodations: For ESOL
and ESE students, I will allow them to use a dictionary during the crossword
puzzle activity. ESE and ESOL students will be given two extra minutes during
both the activity.
